Pythagorean Spiral Reflection!!

I had so much fun making this Pythagorean Spiral!!! The most challenging part for me was doing all of the calculations for the hypotenuses. Once you got the hang of it it was super fun to draw and color  in all of the triangles! I learned that there is a pattern to everything and that doing the work and working git out is super helpful! You should all take a moment to make a Pythagorean Spiral!!

Graphing a House on Desmos!

Hey!!

     So I just recently had a super cool assignment and opportunity to use all my graphing skills and knowledge to create a house on the graphing website, Desmos! I really love how easy this site makes graphing for me. I am a visual learner so being able to see my lines the second I type them in and seeing how positive, negatives, and lots of other super cool things affect my line, circle, equation, etc is so great and helpful! 

     The funnest part for me about this project was seeing how all of these little equations built up to make something other than just a blob of lines! Haha but it was honestly a super cool thing for me to watch the parts add up to the whole! 

     But the most challenging thing was trying to fit in exact measurements and make things connect, flow, and make sense for the way I wanted and envisioned! Attached is the finished product. A super fun and colorful little house under a BIG sun!!!! I highly encourage you to do something like this if you haven't already!

Analyzing Conditional Statements!!!

Hello!!!
          Here is an example of a conditional statement and its 3 verifying statements!!!

conditional: If Virginia is reading,then she is happy --T

converse: If Virginia is happy,then she is reading --F

inverse: If Virginia is not reading,then she is not happy --F

contrapositive: If Virginia is not happy,then she is not reading --T

Why Math?

  Math is a way to be absolutely sure of something. Numbers don't change. For example, we will forever and always know that 2+ 2= 4. That is a fact that will never change. You need math in a TON of jobs whether you realize it or not. You can also use it when shopping to figure out the cost after a sale or your sales tax/tip at a restaurant, etc... 

There are kind of 3 different "doorways" when it comes to asking the question "Why Math?". Number one is a sort of spiritual doorway. Knowledge of math is part of understanding the order in creation and understanding the Creator. Doorway number two is a practical doorway such as building stuff, baking, sports, time, science, medicine, military, and history, just to name a few. You need math for all of these things in order to experiment in science, measure in baking, tell time, and so much more!!!! Lastly, doorway number three is personal, dealing with shopping, taxes, bills, college, etc... Everything having to do with you and what you do. Doorway number one stands out to me the most right now as I am learning a lot about how precisely and intricately God created this earth just for you and me!!!!

 Revelation 21:5 says, "... write, for these words are true and faithful." This verse stands out to me because math is just that!!!!! True and faithful. And we are to write and do it because of it. Not because we are forced to but because we enjoy writing that of which is true and faithful!!!!!

Hello!!
        My name is Virginia and this is my blog about geometry!! Here is a little bit of information about me!! Right now the 3 most important things to me are my family, volleyball, and school. This school year I am really excited about being in the fall musical, Into the Woods, playing Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother. I am anxious about my grades this year.
